No-Bake Chocolate Fruit Tart

Image
I made this tart for the first time a little less than a year ago. The berries were starting to ripen on the bushes in the backyard and I was looking for excuses to eat more of them. After making a few vanilla fruit tarts, I decided I needed to try something a little richer and ended up making this chocolate fruit tart. It was a big hit and my family ate the whole thing in one night. About a week later, they asked me to make it again and a new family recipe was adopted. I've been waiting for berry season to roll around so I could make this again, and I'm so happy it's finally here! It's easy to make and well worth any amount of time spent on it.  The ingredients you'll need are: Oreos  Butter Heavy Cream Semisweet Chocolate Chips The Crust The first thing you'll want to do when making this tart is prepare your crust. It's a simple oreo cookie crust that requires about 32 crushed oreos and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. I prefer to use store brand sandwich cooki

Full Fledged Summer!! :) Whoopee!

So, as you know by my previous posts, I'm officially done with middle school. Which is, in itself, fantabulous (that's a funny nonexistent word). But, even better, is that summer comes right after it. In Oregon, I don't really know if you can call it summer. Yeah, it's a little warmer outside, but it's not like there's ninety degree heat for a week straight. It's July, for cryin' out loud! SO...yup, 'summer.' Let me work my way backwards on this. Because, y'know, I never blog anymore, I have to let everybody know everything about my life no matter how long the post is. Haha. Remember forever ago when I posted about going to the fish hatchery. It must've been three or four years ago. That's really qualifies as forever. Well, we went again the other day. It was nice, sunny, there were ducks. There were fish. Definitely lots of fish. Yup, that's the fish hatchery for ya. There were baby ducks too. And that is about it...(though I h

Mountain To Climb

Middle school. How do I want remember it? The first day, where I was scared to death only to realize the world can't be that big? Or the second day when the rest of school came and were twice my size? Possibly the last day of the first year where I set a school geography record. Today, maybe? Yesterday? The Friday before that? Now that it's over--officially over--and I'm a high schooler, it all seems like some weird dream. A dream with nasty food, people who tried to feed me information I'll probably never need again, and people who stuck with me the whole time. Exaggerate the nasty food part and you're on your way to knowing what middle school was like for me. I mean, the pizza dripped grease! On Monday, I woke up at 6:00 and was rushed to the school. It was cold outside, even with the amount of people huddling around me. The bus ride was long and lonely. Michelle had decided to not come, meaning I was the only one from my group that was on the bus. Three hours s

The Revised Life of Ellie Sweet

I am soooo excited to read this book. It's about a girl (Ellie Sweet) who writes. Here's the synopsis of it: Ellie Sweet is a lot of things—good girl, novelist, silent adorer of the new boy at school, Palmer. But when “outcast” gets added to the list, she decides it’s time to take reality into her own hands … and tweak it as needed. In the pages of her book, she’s Lady Gabrielle, favorite of the medieval Italian court. Her once-friends are reduced to catty ladies-in-waiting, and the too-charming Palmer—who in real life never spares her a second word—gets to be nothing more than a rake wracked by unrequited love for her. She even has a perfect real-life villain in the brooding Chase, who hails from the wrong side of town. But just when she’s getting along great in her fictional world, the real one throws her a few curves. With Chase pursuing her, Palmer wanting to date her—but in secret—and the details of her manuscript going public, Ellie suddenly receives more attentio

I'm doing an expired challenge from a gal's blog that I saw. It looked like fun, so I gave it a try. Ten points to whoever figures out what the challenge is by the end of the post. "The strategy is simple," I pause to make sure everybody is still focused on me. Melean is snickering, her green eyes shining brighter than should be allowed and her black hair sleek in the lighting of the room. "Melean," I growl. I hate bossing people around, but when you're in a matter of life and death, your priorities change. "Can you just stop it?" She rolls her eyes, "No. Hand this stupid thing over to me before you kill everybody." I just stare at her, I can feel the expression on my face turning ugly. Nanny would tell me that I look too sassy. I won't let it happen that way again. Melean was probably right. I, on the other hand, feel like a piece of trash. It would be best if I left. OK! A computeristic high five goes to whoever

Just not eating new things. It's so nasty. Woah. Bunny trail. Let's get back on the BI
